A 10-minute short set in the Texan plains.

4 Transfered is a 10-minute western, shot on Dartmoor in August 2024. Written, directed and filmed by Louis Borodale. It features two performers Peter Beatty and Sean Borodale, who I have previously worked with, and an original score composed by Sebastian Laudicina.

Post-production of this short I found an incredibly useful learning experience. Due to a vast majority of the rushes being inaudible, I contacted Peter Beatty and Sean Borodale to ask if they could rerecord their lines. The next morning I hosted a Zoom meeting to further explain how I wanted their characters to sound, and run through the script once again. Every sound heard throughout the short has been rerecorded under a duvet, apart from the clocks which were recorded by my grandfather. This stylistic choice of using foley as much as possible is something I wish to continue into further projects.
